OFF THE CUFF

Let me begin by making clear that the following is my opinion, and isn’t necessarily shared by anyone else associated with the Houston Herald.

For many years, I’ve been saying to people close to me or anyone else who bring up the subject that sooner or later, there is a singular, defined, and finite human entity that the entire rest of the world will be forced to deal with in a first-hand, direct and unwavering manner: Islam.

What happened last weekend in Orlando is simply another precursor to that fact. This is not a choice, this is a mandate set forth by Islam and the Muslim people who cling to its incredibly irrational and immature teachings.

And don’t for a second think that it’s only the U.S., Jews or Christians being targeted.

If we’re not in Muhammad’s weird club, we’re all infidels (whether Buddhist, Hindu, Canadian, Chinese, Polynesian, French or a member of some remote Amazon tribe that has had little or no contact with “civilization”) and as such must be subdued or eliminated.

If “Allahu Akbar” (look it up) is not our mantra, we’re not worthy of sharing Earth.

There’s not a politically correct fiber in my body, so I have no problem identifying and stating an unfortunate human situation when one exists. That said, I don’t care if “not all Muslims are extremists or terrorists.” It’s almost always Islamic crackpots who use terror for (supposed) gain, and I keep waiting for the “nice” Muslims to step up and put a stop the nonsense.

But I’m pretty sure that ain’t gonna happen. The nonsense is considered duty, and Jihad is the method.

This isn’t funny, and it’s not going away – because they won’t let it. Islam will never sit quietly and coexist with the rest.

Why? Because it’s always been that way.

Why? Because God (the real one, not that Islamic idol) made that part of His plan.

Why? Because He is 100-percent sovereign, and His design doesn’t always have to make sense to us. There have always been “bad guys,” and they often have to be dealt with (see most books in the Bible).

Again, I believe this thing with Islam won’t shrink, fade or just go away. All non-Muslims will face a day when a major showdown is inevitable.

Not by choice, but by necessity. It can’t be avoided, and it might be extremely ugly.

I don’t care who wants to put their head in the sand and believe that things will eventually turn out rosy – this is simply how it is. It’s a growing entity (perhaps being allowed to grow by a naïve world), and I feel like it’s apparently in God’s plan that we’ll be forced to answer to its presence.

But that’s OK with me. Whatever happens, the real God wins.
