The Texas County Sheriff’s Department recently purchased three of the Ford Explorer Police Interceptors for $26,383.18 each.

Funding for the vehicles came from $50,000 from the county, $25,000 from Sheriff James Sigman’s segregated account for equipment and $4,150 through the law enforcement restitution fund. The total price for the three vehicles was $79,149.54. Last week, the department was awaiting delivery of the third vehicle.

Leaving the TCSD’s fleet are 2001 and 2009 Crown Victoria police interceptors that will go up for public bid in the near future.
