Livestock exhibitors from Lamar, Dora, Raymondville, Houston, Licking, Salem, Richland, Mountain Grove, Adrain, Peace Valley, West Plains, Koshkonong, Rolla, Bland, Owensville, Stoutland and Pomona participated, as 131 animals were exhibited (up from 65 last year). The event is a preview show for market animals, and banners and cash prizes were awarded.
Fair Board chairman Darren Ice said the Jackpot Show does not retain any of the jackpot money – other than to cover the expenses incurred to stage the event – and more than 75-percent of the entry fees collected were paid back.
