Three persons were injured Tuesday in a U.S. 63 crash at Licking, authorities said.

Traffic on U.S. 63 at Licking was redirected for a while at about 2:15 p.m. Tuesday due a two-vehicle crash in which three people were injured.

Licking Police Department Sgt. M.R. Hood said a northbound 1996 Chevrolet pickup driven by Anthony J. Better, 58, of Appleton, Wisc., rear-ended a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Megan R. Wade, 20, of Licking, near Maple Street.

Hood said both drivers received moderate injuries, as did a 44-year-old female occupant of Betters’ truck. Wade was transported by helicopter for treatment, while Betters was taken away in an ambulance.

Hood said the car was totaled and the truck was moderately damaged. Wade and Betters’ passenger were reportedly wearing seatbelts, but it was undetermined whether Betters was.

The Licking Fire Department assisted with traffic control at the crash scene.
