A Fourth of July show is planned Monday night at Cabool.

If you missed Houston’s fireworks show on Saturday night, there is still time to catch a display in the county.

Cabool’s Independence Day celebration is today on Main Street, the Cabool Park Board says.

The day’s events open at Montgomery Lake in the Piney River Recreational Area off Cedar Avenue with a fishing tournament at 6:30 a.m. and runs until 9 a.m.

Downtown activities start at 4 p.m. Craft and food booths will open, and there will be music in the Gateway Park gazebo by First Day Church Band.

Basketball and volleyball tournaments, which will be held in the 600 block of Main Street, begin with registration at 4 p.m. Play starts at 5.

The day closes with a free community fireworks display. Persons are welcome to bring their lawn chairs and blankets.
