Workers standby on a catwalk as the top section of the City of Houston's new water tower is lowered into position last week at the Houston Industrial Park.

The City of Houston’s new water tower is nearing completion at the Houston Industrial Park, and is clearly visible above the tree line from many angles around town.

City officials said the project is ahead of schedule, and that the tank will hold 250,000 gallons of water and is expected to be filled this fall. It will be painted white and have “Houston Tigers” facing east.
