Oakwood Golf Club is planning an August golf scramble with multiple sessions and prizes.
The 2016 Mayor’s Challenge will be held Aug. 6 and 7 at the Houston golf course. The two-person scramble will be 18 holes with an entry fee of $150 per team. The cost includes golf cart, mulligans and range balls.
Participants can expect to play all four sessions with a different partner. There will be 20 teams per session. Prizes will be awarded in five flights with four places. The top prize is $1,000 per team –– based on a full field.
Contests will include closest to the pin on all Par 3 holes and the longest drive for both men and women.
Oakwood Golf Club is a nine-hole public golf facility with bermuda tees and fairways and pencross bentgrass greens. The course –– off Highway B in Houston –– has multiple tees for all levels of play. Oakwood also has a driving range and practice putting green.
