The following are excerpts of reports generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:
•A deputy was dispatched at about 11:30 p.m. July 15 regarding a report of peace disturbance at a Dewitt Drive residence at Hartshorn.
A man who lives there told the officers his neighbors were having a party and vehicles kept speeding past his house, spinning their tires and throwing gravel. The officer made contact with the neighbors and advised them that the vehicles needed to be operated with more caution.
•A woman reported four pigs in the yard of her Highway 137 residence at Yukon at about 7 p.m. July 17. An investigating officer contacted the pigs’ owners, and the animals were taken away.
•A 32-year-old Cabool woman reported theft on July 15 at her Varvel Road residence at Cabool.
The woman told an investigating officer that two cell phones, a rose bush and 25 flower bulbs had been swiped and that 25 pair of her underwear and six bathing suits had been cut up. She named her 33-year-old former boyfriend as a suspect.
•A deputy was dispatched at about 2 a.m. July 15 regarding a domestic dispute between a man and woman at a Pike Lane residence at Hartshorn.
The officer made contact with a woman there and told her who he was looking for and the woman stated she hadn’t seen either of them in about three hours. The officer searched the area and found the man hiding inside an old school bus on the property.
A computer check revealed the man had an active Shannon County warrant. Shane L. Briggs, 30, of 22707 Pike Lane at Hartshorn, was arrested and taken to the Texas County Jail and booked on the warrant.
The woman was no located.
•An officer was dispatched at about 1 a.m. July 9 to assist a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper in finding the owner of a vehicle on fire at Highway AD and Panther Road. The officers were unable to locate the owner.
•A 54-year-old Licking man reported on July 15 that the tailgate of a 2000 Chevrolet S-10 had been swiped while the truck was parked at his Highway N residence. There are no suspects.
•A 26-year-old Willow Springs woman reported on July 10 that numerous items with a total value of $4,145 had been stolen from her Highway U residence, including a 55-inch TV and a go-kart. There are no suspects.
•At about 5 p.m. July 12, an officer responded to a report of an extremely intoxicated man walking around nude at the Dogs Bluff river access on Highway 17. The man was gone when the officer arrived.
•During visiting hours on July 9, a woman came to the Texas County Jail to visit an inmate.
A computer check revealed that the woman had an active Howell County warrant. Shyrl D. Archer, 59, of 12089 Nevill Road at Cabool, was arrested and turned over to jail staff.
