The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:
•A deputy was dispatched at about 8:15 p.m. Aug. 28 regarding a report of a domestic dispute at a Bennett Road residence at Houston.
Upon arrival, the officer observed a man and woman at the end of the driveway who stated they had been arguing all day. The man said the woman had been hitting a truck with a large rock attempting to break its windshield. The woman said she was doing that because the man had hit her with the truck.
The deputy determined the woman had several outstanding warrants (of unspecified nature) and placed her under arrest. Shantel N. Howard, 21, of 8826 Highway EE in Cabool, was taken to the Texas County Jail.
•A 46-year-old Licking woman called Aug. 28 to report that her 22-year-old daughter had kicked in doors at her Kimble Road residence. An investigating officer contacted the daughter and advised her she had been officially trespassed on her mother’s property.
•A 37-year-old Success woman came to the TCSD office on Aug 27 to report that a H and R 12-gauge shotgun had been stolen from her Success Road residence. The woman named a 33-year-old Success woman and a 37-year-old Success man as suspects.
Investigation continues.
•A deputy was dispatched at about 2 a.m. Aug 27 after Burlington Northern Railroad police reported a suspicious vehicle with no headlights on had pulled up to a stopped train at the Stone Ridge Drive crossing at Mountain Grove. Upon arrival, the officer observed that the train was gone and no vehicle was there.
•A 39-year-old Cabool man came to the TCSD office on Aug. 25 to report that his wallet had been swiped from his Russell Drive residence. The man named a 35-year-old Houston woman as a suspect.
Investigation continues.
•A Licking man reported on Aug. 26 that he was having trouble with his son who he was evicting from a house he owns on Forrest Drive in Houston. The man told an investigating officer his son was threatening him due to the eviction. The man filled out a voluntarily statement.
An officer noted that there have been other problems within the family involving the man’s son.
•A deputy was dispatched at about 2:20 a.m. Aug. 25 after a man reported hearing about 40 gunshots coming from some apartments near his Highway AW residence at Plato.
The officer made contact with a woman at the apartments who stated she had not heard any gunfire.
•A deputy was dispatched at about 2 a.m. Aug. 8 regarding a report of a prowler at a Junction Street residence at Raymondville.
The officer made contact with a person (of unspecified gender) who lives there who said two people were hiding behind houses in the area and making a lot of noise. The officer was unable to locate them.
•A deputy responded at about 12:45 a.m. Aug. 17 to a report of a tractor-trailer rig parked at Brushy Creek Road and Brown Hill Road. The officer made contact with the truck’s driver and he stated he had dropped someone off there. He moved the truck.
•A 59-year-old Bucyrus man reported on Aug. 21 that a portable saw mill valued at $4,749 had been stolen from his German Road residence.
The man named a Houston man and woman as suspects. Investigation continues.
