Texas County’s unemployment rate increased to 7 percent in July, reports the Missouri Department of Economic Development.
The rate was three-tenths of a percentage point higher from the previous month.
In the south-central Missouri region, the average was 7.6 percent.
The county’s civilian work force was 9,302 with 650 unemployed.
Area counties and their unemployment rate were: Douglas, 6.9; Howell, 7.1; Shannon, 7.8; and Wright, 6.7.
