The Houston High School football team will get a glimpse of how its 2016 version measures up to the competition Friday night when the Tigers host a three-team jamboree.
HHS will compete with Strafford and Mountain Grove in the 6 p.m. scrimmage at Tiger Stadium. Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for students.
The Tigers enter the season with their coaching staff intact from last year. About everything else is changing. HHS returns just one offensive starter – 1,000-yard running back Chance Hunter – and two defensive starters – Hunter and Connor Clifton.
Houston will kick off the scrimmage against Mountain Grove. The Panthers will then play Strafford before the jamboree ends with the Tigers and Strafford playing.
HHS kicks off the season at home Aug. 19 against Ash Grove.
