The “Who Let the Dogs Out 5K Run/Walk,” hosted by The Animal Shelter of Texas County (TASTC), is set for Saturday, Sept. 10. (today)

Registration for the fundraising event will begin at 9 a.m. at the Lone Star Plaza in downtown Houston (at Grand Avenue and Pine Street), with the 5K starting at 10 a.m.

Registration (with guaranteed T-shirt) for participants 13 and older is $20 by Sept. 6 or $25 after that (without T-shirt guarantee). Children 12-and-under accompanied by a paid adult can run for free, and T-shirts are available to them for $6.

Medals will be awarded the top male and female finishers in multiple age groups.

Musical entertainment will be provided by the band, “Ozark Mountain Grass.”

The event is sponsored by Healthy Schools Healthy Communities and Walgreens.

All proceeds will go toward animal rescue in Texas County and surrounding counties.
