ABOUT THIS WEEK’S OPPONENT: Cabool remained winless in 2016 following last week’s 19-18 loss to Willow Springs. …The Bulldogs are under the direction of first-year coach Greg O’Connor. …Houston has won three of the last four matchups between the programs. The Tigers won 21-7 last year and were victorious 40-36 in 2013 and 27-12 in 2012. Cabool won 20-7 in 2014. …HHS coach Eric Sloan downplayed facing his alma mater again. “I don’t think there are any storylines this year,” he said. “It’s always fun, but they have a new coach and are doing new things.”

TIGER TIDBITS: Houston coach Eric Sloan praised his offensive line after the Tigers amassed 150 rushing yards and 228 yards of total offense at Salem. Both totals were more than the first two games of the season combined. “The big boys up front never get their names called,” Sloan said. “They did a nice job, and we had a lot of success.” …Sophomore William Wilson started at left tackle for Brad Wilber, who had surgery last week to repair the broken ankle he suffered in Week 2 against St. James. …Paydon Dixon’s fourth-quarter score was the first rushing touchdown of his career. He had a passing TD in last year’s district game against Strafford.
MORE TIGERS: Along with its offensive success Friday at Salem, Houston had a season-high nine tackles for losses. Junior Michael Clayton led the team with four. …Josh Hurst (2), Chance Hunter (1), Connor Clifton (1) and Dalton James also had tackles for losses. …Clifton had a team-high 13 tackles Friday and leads the team with 30 through three games.
