The Houston eighth-grade football team defeated Mountain Grove 22-12 Thursday night in the season opener.
Chris Cichon had touchdown runs of 30, 10 and 29 yards for the Tigers (1-0). Ty Franklin had a two-point conversion run and pass to Sonny Crawford.
The Houston seventh-grade football team lost 38-0.
The teams are coached by Todd McKinney, Rodney Preheim and Lonnie Lee.
