An accident north of Mountain View injured a man at about 10 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said. 

A Licking man was injured Sunday night when his vehicle ran off Highway 17 in southern Texas County and overturned.

Tpr. C.L. Goodwin said James L. Hawkins, 38, was the driver. He was taken by ambulance with moderate injuries to Mercy Hospital in Mountain View.

Hawkins was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the 10 p.m. accident about five miles north of Mountain View, Goodwin said.  The vehicle had extensive damage.

Hawkins is charged with felony probation/parole violation warrant for robbery, Texas County misdemeanor warrants for driving while revoked, leaving the scene of an accident, DWI (prior offender), careless and imprudent driving and driving while revoked. He is held in the Texas County Jail.
