Billie “Bill” B. Krewson, Sr., 76, passed away Monday, Oct. 17, 2016, at Texas County Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 18, 1940, in Cedar Grove, son of Glen C. and Leora N. York Krewson. He and Pat Krewson were married Oct. 28, 1989.

He graduated from Salem High School in 1958. He served in the Navy for 20 years before he was honorably discharged in 1978. He was an aircraft mechanic on several aircraft carriers and promoted to AMS1. He received numerous awards and commendations, including the Navy Achievement Medal, National Defense Medal and Vietnam Service Medal.

Upon retirement, he returned to Licking to be near his family. He worked at the local John Deere store for over 20 years.

He enjoyed going to the local cafe to visit with friends. He loved auctions and NASCAR, especially driver Jimmy Johnson. He made an annual fishing trip to Florida with his friend, Michael. He loved watching his grandchildren play basketball and baseball.

He was a member of the Licking VFW Post 6337 and Fleet Reserve Association in Houston. He was preceded in death by his parents and two children, Debbie Schwartz and Kim Wilson.

Survivors include his wife of almost 27 years, Pat; his children, Billie B. Krewson, Jr. and Larry Krewson of Licking, Renee McComas of Success, Kristi Hess of San Antonio, Texas, Michael Wilson of St. Peters and Lisa Hensley of DeSoto; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.

Services were Thursday, Oct. 20, at the United Methodist Church in Licking. Burial with full military honors were in Boone Creek Cemetery under the direction of Fox Funeral Home.
