The man subject of a homicide manhunt was in trouble with the law at the time of the shooting Tuesday night in Texas County, court records show.
Daniel G. Campbell, 39, was the subject of an arrest warrant Friday on a charge that he had violated his probation. Yesterday, a motion was filed to suspend and revoke his probation.
Campbell is known to law enforcement. In 2015, he was charged with first-degree tampering of a vehicle and received a five-year term that was suspended after 120 days by a judge, and Campbell was placed on probation.
In February 2014, he was charged with third-degree assault. After receiving a six-month jail term, Campbell admitting he had violated his probation by not reporting to his probation officer on Dec. 16.
