Judges with the Missouri Community Betterment program visit recently in the community kitchen of the Lone Star Annex in downtown Houston. Houston was represented beginning Sunday at the 53rd annual Missouri Community Betterment Conference in Columbia.
Houston is among contestants in a statewide contest in its population category. A panel of judges visited the community earlier to learn about projects undertaken in the town.
Announcement of the winners will come this evening at the annual Leadership, Communities and Youth Group Awards Banquet at the Stoney Creek Hotel in Columbia. The event precedes a day of workshops.
