One man has a broken leg and another is in jail following a fight Wednesday morning outside the Texas County Justice Center in Houston.
Sheriff James Sigman said the two men were at the facility for unrelated court proceedings, and that they had a history of “bad blood” between them. Sigman said he wasn’t sure what sparked the altercation, but that one man sustained a broken leg and was transported from the scene by ambulance.
Texas County Prosecutor Parke Stevens Jr. charged Wayne M. Metroz, 36, of Mountain View, with second-degree assault. He is held on $150,000 bond.
Sigman said both the victim and suspect previously lived here.
“It made for an interesting morning,” Sigman said. “Never a dull moment around here.”
