A Halloween event for kids is set for Saturday in Roby.

The Roby Volunteer Fire Department is hosting its first annual “Trick or Treat Trail” from 4-8 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 29).

The event will be held on the Walking Trail near the Community Center in Roby. There will be 6-to-8 stops in the wooded area.

Hot dogs, hamburgers, “Rhode Island Delight,” chips, sodas and water will be available for purchase, and there will be free movies and popcorn for the kids.

Roby FD Chief Keith Follin said business or club sponsors as well as individual sponsors are being sought for the event. Sponsors can take on a whole trick or treat stop or donate to a stop.

Follin said organizers are in need of candy, decorations, costumes and other items, and cash is accepted as well.

Business sponsors will have a sign placed at the stop they have sponsored.

This event is intended to be a safe, family oriented activity for kids 10-and-under (for this year).

For more information, or to be a sponsor, call Dorie Barnett at 401-338-5115.
