2016 Election

Absentee balloting for the Nov. 8 General Election is underway.

Today is the last day to register to vote.

Applications for absentee ballots for the Nov. 8 election are available through the Texas County clerk’s office. To be eligible, you must be registered to vote in Missouri and meet one of the following criteria:

•You’ll be out of the county on Election Day

•You’re incapacitated or take care of a person who is incapacitated

•You are voting absentee because of a religious belief or practice

•You’ll be working at a poll that is different than your voting location

•You’re incarcerated, but still have voting privileges

•You are participating in the address confidentiality program.

•Absentee ballot requests must be received by the clerk’s office no later than 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 2. The ballots themselves have to make their way to the clerk’s office by Nov. 8, according to the clerk’s office. The deadline to vote absentee in person is 4:30 p.m. the day before the election.
