A Texas County woman was injured early Sunday in an accident south of Licking, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said. 

A woman from Licking was injured Sunday morning when her vehicle struck a deer about three miles south of her hometown on U.S. 63. 

Tpr. Travis Brown said a 2008 Chevrolet HHR driven by Joyce A. Johnson, 43, was involved in the mishap. 

Johnson, who was wearing a seat belt, had minor injuries and was taken by private vehicle to Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston.
