A popular barbecue restaurant in Houston now goes by a new name.
TQ’s Houston of BBQ is now Savor Grill & BBQ. The change is in keeping with the direction co-owners Tony Bieller and his wife, Debbie, are taking their business, and the Houston restaurant’s name now matches that of their location in West Plains.
Bieller said the menu in Houston would be expanded to feature a significant increase in choices, and steaks will be served every night.
“This move makes sense for the direction we’re headed and the branding we want to consistently have,” he said.
The Biellers began their run in the food business by opening the Twirlees Ice Cream trailer on U.S. 63 in June of 2015. They entered the barbecue realm when the Twirlee Q’s BBQ trailer opened next to Twirlees in September 2015.
Twirlee Q’s moved indoors in February of this year (at U.S. 63 and West Highway 17) and the name was changed to TQ’s House of BBQ.
Savor Grill & BBQ opened in West Plains on April 7, and has already outgrown its location at U.S. 160 and Mitchell Road. To keep up with demand, it’s moving a couple of blocks up the highway to the former Ryan’s Steakhouse location. The new venue should be up and running in early 2017.
“We’re hoping to open another location or two in the future,” Bieller said. “Because of the support of the people of Houston and West Plains, we’ve experienced a lot of success in a short time. Our goal is to continue offering what the people seem to be enjoying.”
Savor Grill & BBQ is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week. The phone number is 417-967-5555.
