A Mountain Grove man was killed Monday night in a single-vehicle accident in Texas County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Slayton R. McGowan, 21, was ejected from his vehicle after it overturned multiple times on Highway MM four miles north of Mountain Grove. McGowan was not wearing a seat belt.
The patrol said McGowan was pronounced dead at Mercy Hospital in Springfield at 1:21 a.m. Tuesday — just over six hours after the accident. The 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 he was driving was totaled.
