BREAKING NEWS

Fire departments from two communities were called early Thursday to multiple fires – woods and grass – on Ashley Creek.

Raymondville was first called at about 5:20 a.m.

Licking was called about  7:15 a.m. and was asked to bring its brush truck, blowers and rakes for mutual aide. One fire location is on Ashley Creek, which is about 1.5 miles past Highway V. It didn’t have sufficient personnel, so Houston Rural was called.

At about 3 p.m., the Licking Fire Department responded to a fire involving brush and leaves on Highway CC near Martin Road.
