The Missouri State Highway Patrol said 10 people died in traffic accidents during the Thanksgiving holiday. One fatality was in Troop G.
Troopers investigated 400 traffic crashes –– with 124 injuries –– and eight of the 10 fatalities. The two others were handled by police departments in Sedalia and Kirksville. Additionally, troopers arrested 103 people for driving while intoxicated and made 100 drug arrests.
The Troop G fatality was Saturday in Howell County. Thomas Fargo, 68, of Cherokee Village, Ark., died when the vehicle he was driving ran off the right side of the roadway and overturned multiple times on U.S. 63 south of Brandsville. Fargo was not wearing a seat belt. Howell County Coroner Tim Cherry pronounced Fargo dead at the scene.
