VETERANS TRIBUTE SET FOR FRIDAY

Houston’s annual tribute to veterans is 1 p.m. Friday inside Hiett Gymnasium. Jim McNiell is the guest speaker.

All veterans are invited to attend and stay for snacks afterwards.

HHS WINS CONSTITUTION REVOLUTION REGIONAL, ADVANCES TO STATE

For the second straight year, Houston High School has advanced to the state finals of the Constitution Revolution.

Judge Doug Gaston made the announcement to this year’s team last Thursday inside a conference room at the high school. Houston topped Rolla, Dixon and St. James in the regional round.

Members of this year’s team are:

• Journalism: Madi Franklin, Jolie Warner, Leah Otte, Vanessa Kirkwood and Shelby Vassuer.

• Attorneys: Destiny Pounds, Kyelor Curtis, Darby Bell, Chloe Hunninghake, Madison Lawson and Sydney Anderson.

• CSI: Charlee Sue Jadwin, Cameron Root, Taylor Chipps, Sevanna Rowland and Kylie Stokes.

The finals were Wednesday in Jefferson City. Houston squared off with Cardinal Ritter and Lebanon.
