The Christmas drive that benefits needy children in Texas County is underway at the Lions Club Den basement on North U.S. 63.

Hours are 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Applications are taken there. Donations of new and good used clothing of all sizes, toys and household items are needed.

Angel Trees displaying cases participants can adopt will soon be at Houston Walmart Supercenter, Sonic of Houston and Forbes Pharmacy.

Volunteer Pat Miller is the coordinator. People needing information or wanting to adopt a case can call 417-217-1318 or 417-217-6595.

Monetary donations can be mailed to “Share Your Christmas,” P.O. Box 170, Houston, Mo. 65483, or dropped off at the Houston Herald office on Grand Avenue in downtown Houston.

•Case No. 1 – A new baby doll and some books are on the Christmas wish list of this 7- year-old little girl. She also needs size 8 shirts and pants and size 2 shoes. A winter coat also is needed.

Case No. 2 – This 5-year-old boy is in need of size 7 winter clothing and size 1 1/2 shoes. He likes cars, books and Legos. His 8-year-old sister needs size 8 pants and shirts and size 2 1/2 shoes. She would like to have some books or art supplies.

Case No. 3 – Size 7 pants and tops are needed for a 7-year-old girl. She also needs size 12 shoes. Her toy wish is a doll with a stroller. Two boys, ages 5 and 6, would like to have some new cars or a race track. They are in need of pants and shirts, size 5 and 7. Shoe sizes needed are boys size 11 and 13. The little girl needs a size 7 winter coat as well.

Case No. 4 – A 4-year-old boy’s Christmas wish is a Paw Patrol toy. He needs size 4 clothing and size 12 shoes. His 7-year-old sister would like to have a Barbie doll or a purse. Size 7 clothing and size 2 shoes are needed for her.

Case No. 5 – A 1-year-old baby girl would be happy to get any toys that light up and make noise. Clothing in size 18 months and size 4 toddler shoes are also needed for this child. Her 6-year-old brother needs size 8 pants and shirts and size 2 shoes. His toy wish is a new truck or tractor. Both children are in need of winter coats.
