An Air Evac Lifeteam helicopter sits on U.S. 63 and a Mercy chopper prepares to land at the scene of a crash in which two people were seriously injured Friday afternoon about a half-mile south of Hog Creek.

A man and woman were seriously injured at about 1:30 last Friday afternoon when their truck ran off U.S. 63, struck a driveway and overturned about three miles south of Houston.

Tpr. Marty Wiseman of the Missouri State Highway Patrol said the southbound 2007 Chevrolet 2500 pickup was driven by Donald L. Emily, 68, of House Springs. Emily and a passenger, July L. Emily, 66, were flown by air ambulance to Cox South in Springfield.

Both were wearing seat belts. The vehicle was totaled.
