A fire call was received early Monday by the Houston Rural Fire Department. 

Members of the Houston Rural Fire Department responded early Monday to a house fire east of Houston, authorities said.

The call came at about 3:10 a.m. at 16924 Highway B, one mile past the theatre. 

At about 5:50 a.m., a neighbor reported the fire had fired up again. 

The home was a total loss. A Houston School District instructor, Kary Harrah, was the renter of the property. Three dogs are missing. No one else was home.
