A Summersville woman was injured Thursday, Dec. 1, in a crash about six miles south of her hometown, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

A Summersville woman was injured Thursday afternoon in a Highway 17 crash south of her hometown.

Tpr. Marty Wiseman of the Missouri State Highway Patrol said a northbound 2005 Dodge Stratus driven by Christian W. Drumright, 19, of Willow Springs, was attempting to avoid another vehicle when it crossed over into the oncoming lane and struck head-on a 2010 Toyota Camry operated by Joshua R. Crane, 20, of Summersville.

Wiseman said Drumright was attempting to avoid the vehicle that did not yield and turned in front of his vehicle.

A passenger in the Drumright vehicle, Camilla R. Akers, 21, of Summersville, was taken by ambulance to Ozarks Medical Center at West Plains. She had minor injuries.

Wiseman said Akers and Crane were not wearing seat belts. Both vehicles had extensive damage.

Assisting at the scene were Cpl. Curtis Haden, Tpr. Mark Philpott, Tpr. Cathryn Davis and the Summersville Fire Department.
