Sales tax revenue climbed during the latest monthly distribution in Houston, reports the Missouri Department of Revenue.

Revenue from sales taxes collected by Houston merchants inched slightly up during the latest monthly distribution, reports the Missouri Department of Revenue.

The total from a one-cent sales tax was $70,588, which was up $528 from the same monthly period a year ago. For the year, $663,747 has been collected. That’s up about $7,841 in the first 11 months of the year.

Merchants also collect two quarter-cent sales taxes geared toward streets, sidewalks and utility improvements. Each totaled about $17,259 for the month. That’s up about $204 on each. The total year-to-date is $161,621, up $3,328 on each.
