A man accused of killing one man and seriously injuring another in Texas County — and then later escaping from the Texas County Jail — has been sent to prison on an unrelated offense.
Daniel G. Campbell, 39, was on probation when the murder and shooting occurred, and officials were in the process of revoking his probation on a tampering and burglary charge.
A circuit judge revoked his probation on Dec. 22 and sent Campbell to prison on a five-year sentence.
Campbell was re-captured without incident in November after he escaped from the jail. His capture in rural northwest Texas County was one day after he walked out of the jail where construction was under way.
It was the second time Campbell had led authorities on a manhunt. Earlier, a 70-hour manhunt was conducted after the shooting. He was arrested Oct. 25 without incident.
