Texas County deputies are investigating several crimes in the county.

The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:

•A deputy responded at about 2:50 p.m. Jan 22 to a report of two men involved in a fist-fight on Junction Street in Raymondville. The officer searched the area but was unable to locate them. Witnesses reported stated they left in opposite directions after exchanging blows.

•Texas County 911 reported at about 9:30 a.m. Jan. 22 that a man had called stating he was hanging from a ladder at his Highway M property at Plato. Before the officer arrived a call was received indicating Roby Fire Department personnel had aided the man.

•A Willow Springs man reported on Jan. 20 that his neighbor’s juvenile boy was frequently trespassing on his and two of his relatives’ Curran Road properties at Willow Springs. The man told an investigating officer the boy lets their dogs loose and takes them home, and also causes other problems. The officer also spoke to another man who lives on the same road and he said the boy trespasses on his property, too, and causes problems.

The boy’s parents were contacted and told that the boy was banned from going onto all four properties, and they would be issued citations if reports came in stating he did.

•A woman called at about 3:40 p.m. Jan. 19 to request that a deputy check the well-being of a woman at a Highway AF residence at Licking. An officer made contact with the woman in question and she said she had been taking a bath and missed the other woman’s call, and that she was sorry the other woman had called to have her checked on.

•A 42-year old Houston woman reported at about 3:10 p.m. Jan 19 that another woman was dancing in the yard at U.S. 63 residence at Houston.

An investigating officer was unable to locate the dancer, but noted in a report that the woman who had called in the report had made so many calls to the sheriff’s department between 12:10 a.m. and 9 a.m. that documenting them filled almost five pages of logs.

The officer also noted that the woman had recently referred by the TCSD for a 96-hour mental evaluation.

•A woman called Jan. 16 to report that she is a caretaker for Union Chapel Church, on Little Creek Road at Mountain Grove, and that someone had been living in the church without permission.

The woman told an investigating officer that no damage to the church was visible, but that the person had apparently been eating canned food and made a bed in a back room. She wanted the person removed from the property.

The officer advised the woman that extra patrols would be conducted in the area. Investigation of the case continues.
