Elene Sandra Beavers Michel, 86, passed away Thursday, Dec. 22, at her home following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s.

She was born Sept. 3, 1930, in Birch Tree, daughter of Jess Robert and Reva Alice Hopkins Beavers Thomas. She and Norman Henry Michel were married Feb. 25, 1949, in Salem, Ark. He passed away Nov. 28, 2007.

She and her husband, Norman, lived in St. Ann for many years.

She accepted Christ and was a member of Valley Center Baptist Church in Hartshorn.

She loved taking care of her family and enjoyed working in her flowers beds.

She spent many hours in the care of her nieces, Judith and Janet, living in their homes.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Carl, Chaplin, Bill and Kenneth; and a sister, Evelyn Waggoner.

Survivors include a son, Gary Michel of Manchester; a grandson; four brothers, Alvin Beavers of Arnold, Lyle Beavers of Festus, Charles Beavers of Birch Tree and Clinton Thomas of Winston Salem, N.C.; and many other family members.

Services were Tuesday, Jan. 3, at Bradford Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Heiney officiating. Burial was in Valley Center Cemetery.
