Houston police officers recently handled several investigations. 

The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Houston Police Department:

•Edith A. Wen, 35, of 614 N. Second St. in Houston, was cited for driving with a suspended license on Jan. 22.

•William R. Hawkins, 59, of 7616 Brown Hill Road in Houston, was issued citations for driving while revoked and no insurance on Jan. 20.

•Tyler T. Shea, 20, of 11299 Pettis Lane at Plato, was issued citations for minor in possession of alcohol by consumption and failure to register a motor vehicle after a traffic stop on Highway 17 at about 10:30 p.m. Jan. 22.

An officer made the stop after observing a maroon Pontiac Grand Prix traveling without headlights on. After making contact with the driver, the officer smelled alcohol and a portable breath test was conducted.

•Joy M. Mathews-Evans, 40, of 16107 Swisher Road in Elk Creek, was issued a citation for stealing under $500 after allegedly shoplifting from Walmart on Jan. 20.

•Billy J. Burke, 30, of 16466 Forrest Drive in Houston, was issued citations for driving while revoked, no insurance and no operable license plate light after a traffic stop on Oak Hill Drive at about 9:55 p.m. Jan. 15.

•Matthew L. McCain, 28, of 7667 Maries Lane in Houston, was cited for operating a vehicle with expired license plates after a traffic stop at U.S. 63 and Walnut Street at about 3:20 a.m. Jan. 4.

•Kenneth B. Yaeger, 63, of 1201 Thomasville Road in Houston, was cited for failure to yield right-of-way after a two-vehicle accident at Highway 17 and Thomasville Road at about 5:30 p.m. Jan. 18.
