The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Houston Police Department:
•Kolton C. Morgan, 20, of 14898 Sand Hollow Road at Bucyrus, was issued a citation for minor in possession of alcohol by consumption on Jan. 8.
Morgan was cited after an officer traveling eastbound on Highway 17 observed a white Ford pickup parked on the grass shoulder just east of Industrial Drive and stopped to ask what was happening. The officer made contact with two men and smelled alcohol on Morgan’s breath while speaking to him, and a portable breath test was administered.
•Ronald K. Cunningham, 47, of Box 100 Route 1 at Summersville, was cited for driving while intoxicated (drug condition) on Dec. 30.
An officer cited Cunningham after responding to a report of a white Mercury sedan driving erratically on U.S. 63. The officer located the car in the Walmart parking lot and made contact with the driver, Cunningham. After an investigation, the officer determined he had taken a substantial amount of prescription medication, and field sobriety tests were conducted.
Cunningham was taken to the Texas County Jail.
•Douglas C. Brown, 46, of 7625 Barry Lane in Houston, was cited for driving while intoxicated after a traffic stop on U.S. 63 at about 9:15 p.m. Dec. 29.
An officer made the stop after observing a red Chevrolet Silverado traveling with what appeared to be its drive shaft dragging on the ground. After making contact with the driver, the officer observed that he was swaying back and forth and smelled a strong odor of alcohol. Field sobriety tests were conducted, and Brown was taken to the Texas County Jail.
•Cody C. Smith, 17, of 5739 Lilly Road at Houston, was issued a citation for careless and imprudent driving after an officer observed a white Ford pickup doing donuts in the parking lot below the gym at Houston High School at about 10:30 p.m. Dec. 28.
•Ashley R. Dotson, 21, of 14606 Highway U at Cabool, was cited for failure to yield right of way after a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 63 at the Texas County Health Department at about 3:30 p.m. Dec. 30.
•Cody A. Mosley, 27, of 15870 Mesa Drive in Houston, was cited for allowing animals to run at large after an officer responded to a report of two dogs loose at Opportunity Sheltered Industries at about 2 p.m. Jan. 3.
