Busy times

It’s been super busy here at the chamber.

On Jan. 28, we had our annual banquet. As usual, Two Good Cooks served an awesome meal and everyone had a good time. I would like to say congratulations, once again, to Hartis Collins, Gayla Bratton and Tammy Cantrell.

I have fond memories of Fashion Corner. I can’t remember what I did yesterday, but I can remember when Lee came out with these cool new overalls the summer before my senior year. Mom took me to Fashion Corner and bought me a pair. It was always nice having a store in town that carried all the latest styles.

As for Gayla and Tammy, there is no way I could ever say “thank you” enough for everything you’ve done to help me and the chamber.

On Feb. 4, we had our first indoor yard sale. To say it was a success would be an understatement. I want to say thank you to all the vendors and the public for your participation. It would not have been a success without all of you.

Our next big event will be the Spring Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 18 at the Community Building. Anyone interested in participating can contact me at the chamber.

At our last board meeting on Jan. 26, the board voted to increase my hours from 30 to 40. I am now in the office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. I encourage you to stop in and see what the chamber has planned for the town. I have an open-door policy, and I would love to see you. I love this town and I want to do what’s best for it and the people who live here.
