BREAKING NEWS

Fires are popping up Monday across Texas County, helped by dry conditions that have sparked numerous blazes in the region.

The latest is four to five acres burning at 16202 Friend Drive off Highway AA. The Roby Fire Department was called.

Earlier, departments at Tyrone and Clear Springs were called to south of the North Jack Forks Bridge on Highway 137, where a fire was reported. It was extinguished by a passer-by.

Raymondville Fire Department volunteers responded to Kirkman Road, where hay bales were on fire Monday afternoon.
