Texas County deputies recently handled several investigations.

The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:

•A pair of deputies responded Feb. 26 regarding a report of a domestic dispute involving a man threatening family members with a knife at a Highway 181 residence at Cabool.

Upon their arrival, two Missouri State Highway Patrol officers were already there and had separated the combatant parties. Investigation revealed that the man, 23, had come home with his girlfriend and they had found their fish tank appeared to have soap in it.

The incident then progressed to where the man allegedly threatened to cut two relatives’ throats with a knife. The deputies determined no crime had actually been committed and the 12-hour rule was put in place.

•A deputy responded at about 10:50 p.m. Feb. 26 to a report of a woman being held against her will at a Shelton Road residence at Willow Springs.

The deputy made contact with a man who lives there who said his girlfriend was there by choice, and her former boyfriend had called the sheriff’s department to make trouble for her. The woman said she was going to get an ex-parte against the former boyfriend so he would leave her alone.

•A deputy was dispatched at about 5:40 p.m. Feb. 25 after a woman called to report a man with a gun walking along U.S. 63 near Twin Bridges. The officer was unable to locate the man.
