A benefit 5K run and walk is planned Saturday, March 25, to aid a Houston woman fighting brain cancer.
“Fight Like an ER Nurse” begins at 9 a.m. at the Houston Rural Fire Association station on Walnut Street to benefit Jennifer Smith and her family. She is a nurse at Texas County Memorial Hospital.
Entry cost information:
•If you have already donated for a T-shirt, the donation for the race is $10.
•Race plus T-shirt, $30.
•Race plus long-sleeve dri-fit, $30.
•If you don’t want to run, but would like to order a T-shirt, the donation is $20. ($25 for long sleeve dri-fit)
Shirts will be issued to registration occurring before March 10.
There will be a silent auction from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. Harold’s Classic BBQ and Smoked Meats will offer a pulled pork sandwich, chips and a drink for a minimum donation of $5.
