The Texas County Fair Board is giving away scholarships in the form of three animals this year.

A pig, goat and sheep will be awarded to high school seniors or first-year college students who have shown animals at least two years at the Texas County Livestock Fair. Applicants must be from Texas or an adjoining county and the deadline to apply is April 18.

Other requirements for the scholarships include:

•Applying for only one species of animal.

•Consenting to three farm visits for consultation and guidance of the scholarship animal.

•Providing adequate facilities to care for the animal.

The winners will take possession of their animals at the April 30 weigh-in. The scholarship animals will not be counted toward the Junior Livestock Sale.
