A Huggins man faces charges following a break-in at Licking, authorities said.

The Texas County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a theft at Licking that netted burglars nearly $300,000 in tools, gold, silver and coins.

A deputy was dispatched at about 6:30 p.m. Friday regarding a report of a theft at a Highway 32 residence at Licking.

A 60-year-old man who lives there told the officer he returned from St. Louis and found that a lock on a gate had been cut and numerous items had been stolen. The man said swiped goods included a 24-foot Interstate super cargo trailer valued at $14,000 that contained numerous possessions, including $100,000 in tools, and $100,000 worth of gold and silver bars and coins. The man stated the total value of stolen items was $294,100.

There are no suspects.
