Texas County’s unemployment rate showed improvement in March, reports the Missouri Department of Economic Development. The figure was 5.6 percent — down nine-tenths of a percentage point from February.
In the south-central Missouri region, the average was 5.4 percent in March.
Texas County’s civilian work force was 9,197 with 518 unemployed.
Area counties and their unemployment rates were: Douglas, 4.7; Howell, 5.1; Shannon, 6.8; and Wright, 4.8.
