Houston police cited several during investigations during the last week. 

The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Houston Police Department:

•Douglas P. Horton, 59, of 510 W. Highway 17 in Houston, was issued a citation for possession of marijuana on March 31. Horton was cited after an officer observed a man inside a tan passenger car parked on Grand Avenue at about 10:45 a.m. who was honking its horned and appeared to be impaired. The officer noticed the man was swinging his arms around and beating on the steering wheel.

The officer made contact with the man to ask what he was doing, and the man said he was listening to music while waiting for a friend who was getting his hair cut. The officer saw the man put something in a cupholder-typed ashtray, and investigation revealed a plastic bag containing about 10 grams of marijuana. The pot was seized as evidence, and Horton was taken to the Texas County Jail, fingerprinted and released.

•Jerry J. Chiasson Jr., 24, of 8516 Highway E in Houston, was cited for failure to register a motor vehicle on March 18.

•Debra S. Dzurick, 58, of 20291 Highway B at Raymondville, was cited on March 17 for operating a motor vehicle with expired license plates.

•Anthony J. Jones, 56, of 16730 Highway B in Houston, was issued a citation for driving while revoked after a traffic stop on March 31.

•Patrick L. Vaughan, 26, of 426 Fourth St., No. 2, in Houston, was arrested for having an active Houston municipal warrant for failure to appear on a stealing charge.

An officer made the arrest after responding at about 11 p.m. to a report of a green Chevrolet S-10 breaking traction on Chestnut Street near Emmett Kelly Park. The officer made contact with the driver, Vaughn, and knew he had an active warrant. Vaughn was taken to the Texas County Jail where he was unable to post $500 bond.

•Wesley A. Choate, 38, of 16448 Forrest Drive in Houston, was arrested April 1 for having an active Houston municipal warrant for failure to appear on a trespassing charge. An officer made the arrest after investigating a reported fight at McDonald’s at about 8:30 p.m. Choate was taken to the Texas County Jail, where he posted $500 bond and was released.
