Police recovered items after a woman said she was the victim of crime.

The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:

•A deputy was dispatched May 19 regarding a report of an abandoned camper trailer at a Highway AF residence at Licking.

A 67-year-old man who lives there said it had been left there, and he wanted it removed. The officer found no vehicle identification number on it, but the man said he might know who owned it and would try to contact them.

The officer advised the man to call the TCSD back if he wanted the trailer towed at its owner’s expense.

•A 44-year-old Plato woman reported on May 19 that a pack of dogs had attacked her while she was horseback riding near her Highway AP residence.

The woman stated that a pit bull that was leading the pack had to be shot to stop attacking.

the woman told an investigating deputy she didn’t know who owned the pit bull or other dogs. The officer was not able to locate the other dogs or their owners.

•A 69-year-old Licking man reported on May 18 that three chainsaws and an air compressor with a total value of $855 had been stolen from a vehicle at his Lotz Drive residence.

Several men are being interviewed about the case and local pawnshops were notified with descriptions of the swiped goods.

•A 61-year-old man reported on May 11 that seven $100 bills had been swiped from inside the purse of an 84-year-old woman he is the caretaker for while it was hidden in the bathroom at her Five Oaks Road residence at Mountain Grove. A 51-year-old Mountain Grove woman is identified as a suspect in the case.

•A deputy on May 7 investigated a report from a 55-year-old Licking woman that a flatbed trailer valued at $400 had been stolen from her Cooper Drive residence.

The woman told the officer she had been receiving text messages from a 36-year-old Licking man stating he had swiped the trailer. The trailer was on a Bean Creek Road property attached to a Chevrolet S-10 pickup.

A report seeking charges against the suspect was sent to the county prosecutor.

•At about 12:05 a.m. May 19, deputies were dispatched to a Cantreel Drive residence at Licking after a woman requested a well-being check on a 35-year-old man who was drunk and wielding a shotgun. Upon arrival, the officers found the man asleep on a bed and apparently fine, with the gun on the floor nearby.

•A 61-year-old Summersville woman on May 1 reported a burglary at her Grassy Road residence at Summersville.

The woman said several items with a total value of $1,028 had been swiped and named a 21-year old West Plains man as a suspect. She provided copies of salvage yard receipts showing sale of some of the items. A probable cause statement was sent to the county prosecutor seeking charges against the man.

•A deputy was dispatched at about 11 p.m. May 16 regarding a report of harassing phone calls at a Taylor Lane residence at Plato.

A 37-year-old man who lives there told the officer another man had threatened to kill him and his wife during a phone call. The man also said that neighbors had been having trouble with the suspect.

The officer spoke to a neighbor woman, who stated the suspect had threatened to kill her, too. Investigation continues.

•A deputy investigated a report of a burglary April 16 at a Spring Creek Road residence at Licking.

A 46-year-old man who lives there told the officer someone had broken into his house and stolen numerous items with a total value of $22,967 (including guns, coins and jewelry). A 23-year-old Salem man and an 18-year-old Licking man are identified as suspects, but their location isn’t known. Investigation continues.
