Caleb Arthur addresses those last week at an event honoring his business.

A Houston-founded firm was recognized last week at a Springfield Business Journal event as the No. 1 fastest-growing company in the Ozarks.

Sun Solar LLC and its founder, Houston High School graduate Caleb Arthur, posted 2016 revenue of $23.8 million, an 888 percent increase over $2.4 million in 2014.

“There is a lot of solar coming forward right now. When we came to this area, the people graciously adopted us,” said Arthur, speaking from the stage of downtown’s Old Glass Place. “A lot of our clients are here tonight. Even this building has solar panels.”

Arthur spoke to a crowd of more than 200 gathered for the event, which honors the 12 fastest-growing companies in southwest Missouri. Companies were chosen through a numbers-based formula awarding points for both revenue and percentage growth. Eligible companies must have at least $500,000 in revenue, be located within a 50-mile radius of Springfield and be in business for at least three years.
