The Houston R-1 School District has canceled its bus trip today to Busch Stadium.
The HHS baseball team’s game in St. Louis was postponed yesterday, but the district still planned to take students to the Major League Baseball game between the St. Louis Cardinals and Milwaukee Brewers. But with continued inclement weather and flooding, the district announced Thursday morning it would not take that trip.
“We understand the inconvenience this is causing, but the safety of our students is the most important part of making this decision,” HHS Principal Amy Smith said. “Students who qualified to ride the bus can be checked out of school by a parent to attend the game without it being held against their attendance. This also applies for our baseball players. Unfortunately we will not be able to give a refund for the tickets. If the Cardinals game is cancelled, the tickets will still be good for the make up game.”
