Texas County’s unemployment rate improved in April, reports the Missouri Department of Economic Development. The figure was 4.9 percent, a drop of seven-tenths of a percentage point from March.
In south-central Missouri region, the rate was identical to Texas County’s number.
Texas County’s civilian work force was 9,392 with 461 unemployed.
Area counties and their unemployment rates were: Douglas, 4.5; Howell, 4.8; Shannon, 5.9; and Wright, 4.1.
