A decline in sales tax revenue during the latest monthly distribution was enough to turn the tally negative for the year, the Missouri Department of Revenue reports.
The total for the year from each of three one-half cent sales taxes is about $425,100, down about 5 percent for the year or about $22,800 each.
The report in May showed merchants collected about $89,500 on each tax, that was down nearly $24,600 from the same period a year ago.
The sales tax revenue is used for debt repayment on the justice center, maintenance and general operations.
